'The David Ngoombujarra Starr Foundation', aimed at supporting Indigenous Arts students through a Scholarship and Mentoring programme.
David Ngoombujarra Starr was one of Australia's leading Aboriginal Talents. His career spanned over two decades, working in Film, Theatre and TV. He was discovered busking at Circular Quay in Sydney in 1987. His breakthrough role as 'Pretty Boy Floyd' in the film 'Blackfellas' in 1993 earned him the first of three Australian Film Industry Awards, the only Aussie Actor to achieve this. Popular amongst his peers, he will always be remembered for his warmth and humility. David never forgot his roots, connecting late in life with his Aboriginal family in the North West, his fame amongst Indigenous Australians is unsurpassed.
